This is a look into the man, the legend that is Leo Golden child. We discussed from his music inspirations to having matching tattoos. Embrace the man of the whole that is Leo Golden Child. 

If you know of my work, you would know that one of my first ever interviews I compiled was with this guy, it was his genuineness, friendliness that made me remember his ability with people. Not only is he generating a fan base on social media, but also visiting schools to do express positivity. Personally it was someone with that desire to help people made me want to call him back for another interview.

When did you first discover a major passion for music?

 I discovered my passion for music whilst my mother was in hospital, it was my only means of releasing energy.

What would you say makes you stand out by the other artists that are currently established at the moment?

 My music is Unique, Conscious and is about my life story both current and past. My life is what allows me to stand out.

If you had a movie based about your life, who would you like to play you? Now this is a tough question ! I think I would like to play the role of mother just so I could understand the feeling of what she experienced and understand how she kept it all together.

What’s been your biggest achievement to date? 

My upmost Biggest Achievement would be winning the ‘Marks and Spencer’s School Tour Award in Canary Wharf, That by far is a monumental part of my life.

How did you come up with the name “Leo Golden Child”?

 Leo Golden child was a name that I created after hearing my Grandad was from a Cuban decent. In cuban Leo meant as strong as a lion and I really wanted a name that would represent him after not being able to meet him. The ‘Golden Child’ represents me being the only son that my mother gave birth to after my brother died at birth.

What or who inspires you to create the music you create?

 Life, Harry Moseley and all of those on my school tour give me the burning desire to create music, I believe that you can only give out real music by life’s experiences. I would much rather take a few months out of creating music to experience life moments, then make a song about chewing gum and roses.

Out of all the music you've created what would you say has been your favourite?

 My most favourite by far is ’Stay Positive’ its just upbeat, has good energy to it, and is just positive.

What can we expect to see/hear from you within the next 12 months?

 Nothing but Greatness, I promise me and my manager ‘Mark Tolliss’ will do all we can to help deliver positive music.

If you had the chance to relive one moment again what would it be and why? 

School I would of focused bit more, and taken more time out.

Everyone has different descriptions about the specific genre of music you create, what genre of music would you say it is? 

I would say my genre is ‘Experimental’ because its not just rap hiphop or r’nb but my own sound. I try to stay out of the Urban genre.

If there was a musician out there you would love to do collaboration with whom would it be and why? 

J-Cole/ Tinie Tempah , they create so much real music Jcole is just humble with his craft, and Tinie can create something Great from nothing!

As we can see you’re in great shape, what keeps you motivated to stay focused on fitness and music? 


My mother gives me that focused to keep training, when she had her stroke she couldn't walk for weeks/months so its only right I take full advantage of what I'm capable of doing.

If you had the chance to live in a celebrities shoes for a day who would it be and why? 

Cassius Clay, Would be Awesome to see the life he experienced, and how he trained.

What originally made you write music, the only reason why I ask is because majority of musicians today say they do music but don’t write their own music. So what kept you going to writing your own music? & would you work with a songwriter if the opportunity came about? 

I see it as what's the Point creating and reliving music that someone's else created, its kind of like reliving someone else’s life moment. I feel my music might relate to certain people but not everyone but its worth letting them hear me.

If you could give advice to someone to someone attempting to break the music industry like yourself what would you say to them?

 I would say keep it original, keep going, and don’t settle for anything less, but most importantly have fun :)
